How Many Members Are There In The Adamawa State 8TH House Of Assembly?

The Adamawa State 8th House of Assembly consists of 25 members, which includes the speaker and deputy speaker. This legislative body serves as the governing arm of Adamawa State in Nigeria.

It operates as a unicameral legislature, with members elected from the 21 local government areas, known as State Constituencies, within the state.

The Assembly ensures equitable representation by dividing local government areas with larger populations into two constituencies. This confirms that all regions within the state have fair and adequate representation in the legislative process.

However, the primary functions of the Assembly encompass passing new laws, amending or repealing existing ones, and overseeing the activities of the executive branch.

Members of the Assembly are elected for four-year terms, with federal legislators in the Senate and House of Representatives.

Convening three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, the Adamawa State House of Assembly holds its sessions in the assembly complex located in the state capital, Yola. This regular schedule underscores the commitment of the Assembly to its legislative duties and responsibilities.
