Who Is The Current Speaker Of The Ebonyi State House Of Assembly?
Moses Odunwa, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Ikwo South, is currently the Speaker of the seventh Ebonyi State House of Assembly.
The inauguration, presided over by Governor Francis Nwifuru in Abakaliki, saw Odunwa elected unopposed for his second term in the Assembly.
Nkemka Onuma, representing Afikpo South West, nominated Odunwa for the position, which was seconded by Godwin Abiri of Izzi West.
Former Deputy Speaker Kingsley Ikoro now serves as the Majority Leader, and Nkemka Onuma emerged as the Majority Whip. Chief Joseph Ununu was elected Deputy Leader, and Arinze Lucas serves as the Deputy Whip.
In his acceptance speech, Speaker Odunwa expressed gratitude to Governor Nwifuru and his predecessor, David Umahi, for their support.
He pledged cooperation with the executive branch to uphold the state’s development agenda while emphasizing the Assembly’s commitment to legislating for the people’s welfare.

Who Is The Current Deputy Speaker Of The Ebonyi State House Of Assembly?
The current Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly is Chinedu Onah of Ohaukwu South constituency.
Chinedu Ogba is a Nigerian politician serving at the State House of Assembly level. Presently, he represents Ohaukwu South constituency at the State Legislature.
In the 7th State Assembly, the 24-member Ebonyi State House of Assembly unanimously elected Chinedu Onah as the Deputy Speaker.
During the nomination process, there were no counter-nominations when the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Patricia Anasi, called for further nominations for the office of Deputy Speaker.
Chinedu Onah was subsequently sworn in by the Clerk and decorated by the Sergeant-at-Arms. Chinedu Onah’s election as Deputy Speaker underscores his commitment to serving the people of Ebonyi State and upholding the principles of democracy and good governance.
As a representative of Ohaukwu South constituency, he is dedicated to addressing the needs and concerns of his constituents while also contributing to the overall development and progress of Ebonyi State.
