How Many Members Make Up The Niger State House Of Assembly?

The Niger State House of Assembly, which is the government’s legislative branch, has 27 members elected from the 25 local government areas of the state.

Each local government area sends one or two representatives to the Assembly. In areas with larger populations, they have two representatives to provide adequate representation.

These members are elected every four years, just like federal legislators, such as those in the Senate and House of Representatives.

The primary duties of the Assembly include making new laws, changing or removing existing laws, and overseeing the actions of the executive branch of the government.

To carry out these responsibilities, the Assembly meets for plenary sessions three times a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. These meetings occur in the Assembly complex in the state capital, Minna.
