How Many Members Do We Have In The Ondo State House Of Assembly?
The Ondo State House of Assembly, which is unicameral, consists of 26 members elected from each constituency across the 18 local government areas of the state.
The Ondo State House of Assembly is an essential part of the state’s government, established on October 2, 1979. It serves as the legislative arm of the government.
The assembly plays an important role in the legislative process of Ondo State, including passing laws, overseeing government activities, and representing the interests of their constituents.

Who Is The Current Speaker Of Ondo State House Of Assembly?
The current Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly is Olamide Adesanmi Oladiji, also known as Landmark, having taken up this role in June 2023.
Oladiji is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and represents the Ilaje Constituency 1 and Ondo East constituency.
Olamide Oladiji was born in the Toribo community, Ondo State, Nigeria, and had his education at St. Paul’s R. C. M Primary School and St. Joseph’s College in Ondo.
He pursued further studies in accountancy at the Federal Polytechnic Unwanna, Ebonyi State, and the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Also, he holds postgraduate diplomas in education and theology. Before joining politics, Oladiji had a career in various fields, including education and hospitality.
He served as chairman of several institutions, including Landmark Polytechnic and Dynamic Landmark Group of Schools.
However, Olamide Oladiji joined the APC in 2014, and he contested for the Ilaje Constituency 1 seat in the Ondo State Assembly in 2015 but was unsuccessful.
Then, he won the seat in the 2019 elections and served as Deputy Majority Leader during the 9th Ondo State Assembly.
In June 2023, Oladiji was nominated for the speakership position by Temitope Akomolafe and seconded by Abiola Oladapo, both members of the APC. Since then, he has been leading the 10th Ondo State House of Assembly as its Speaker.

Who Is The Current Deputy Speaker Of Ondo State House Of Assembly?
Abayomi Akinruntan is currently serving as the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly. Born on October 21, 1973, in Nigeria, he hails from the Ugbo Kingdom in Ilaje Local Government, Ondo State.
Abayomi attended Sacred Heart Nursery/Primary School and Command Secondary School in Ibadan before pursuing higher education.
He earned a National Diploma in Art and Design from the Polytechnic, Ibadan, and later obtained an LL.B {Hons} in Law from Olabisi Onabanjo University.
Abayomi has been involved in business before he became a politician. He held various positions in Obat Oil and Petroleum Limited, including Operations Manager.
Additionally, he serves as the Director of Operations for Febson Hotel Nigeria Ltd and is affiliated with several other firms.
Abayomi’s political career began in 2011 when he contested for the Nigerian House of Representatives. Although he was denied the ticket under the Labour Party, he persisted and eventually won the 2015 Ondo State House of Assembly election.
He later switched his political allegiance from the PDP to the APC in 2017. Abayomi was reelected as a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly in 2020 under the All Progressive Congress.
