Who Is The Current Minister Of State For Health In Nigeria?

Dr. Tunji Alausa

Dr. Tunji Alausa is the current Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare in Nigeria. He took office in August 2023, after being appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Dr. Alausa plays an important part in improving Nigeria’s healthcare system. His goal is to make sure that the system meets high global standards and effectively meets the needs of the Nigerian people.

Dr. Alausa has a strong background in healthcare, particularly in nephrology, which focuses on kidney health. He is a board-certified nephrologist in the United States and has over 30 years of experience in both private and public health sectors.

Alausa was part of the President’s Policy Advisory Council on Health, where he helped create health policies aimed at improving and reforming Nigeria’s healthcare sector.

One of Dr. Alausa’s major achievements is founding the Kidney Care Center and Dialysis Care Center in the U.S. These centers offer specialized care for patients with kidney issues.

His work in the United States helped build a national brand for integrated healthcare, improving care for people with chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure.

However, as the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Alausa is focused on achieving Universal Health Coverage for all Nigerians.

He wants to transform Nigeria’s healthcare system to provide better services and improve health outcomes for the people.
