How Many Members Are In The House Of Assembly In Gombe State?
The Gombe State House of Assembly, serving as the legislative branch of the government in Gombe State, Nigeria, includes 24 members.
This assembly is designed as a unicameral legislature, consisting of a single chamber. These 24 members are elected from the 11 local government areas within the state, each of which is divided into 24 state constituencies.
However, to assure fair representation, local government areas with larger populations are divided into two constituencies, thus maintaining equal representation across the state. Consequently, the total number of legislators remains at 24.

Who is the Current Speaker Of The House Of Assembly In Gombe?
Muhammad Abubakar Luggerewo is the current Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly. Born on March 11, 1984, in Maiduguri, Nigeria, Luggerewo is a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) party.
He obtained a Diploma in General Agriculture from Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri in 2004 and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Maiduguri, graduating in 2014.
Currently, he is working towards his M.Sc. Degree in Agricultural Economics at the same university. Before moving into politics, Luggerewo worked in the banking sector, serving in prominent institutions like Guarantee Trust Bank PLC and Eco Bank Nigeria Limited.
His political career commenced with his election as a member representing Akko Central in the State House of Assembly in 2019 under the platform of the APC.
Luggerewo’s rise to the position of Speaker came after the impeachment of Honorable Sadiq Kurba on November 24, 2020.
As the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Luggerewo plays an important role in legislative matters, ensuring the smooth functioning of the assembly and representing the interests of his constituency.
