Current Minister Of State Housing And Urban Development In Nigeria
Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo is currently the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development in Nigeria. He took on this role on August 21, 2023, as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s team.
The administration is working to solve the country’s housing and urban development problems. Gwarzo was born in Gwarzo, a town in Kano State, Nigeria.
He went to primary and secondary school in Kano before going to university, where he studied Building Technology at the Federal University of Technology in Minna.
This education gave him the skills and knowledge needed for his work in housing and urban development. However, Gwarzo started his political career, by working on community development projects that focused on housing and infrastructure.
He wanted to improve living conditions in Nigeria, which led him to get involved in local governance, where he pushed for better housing policies.
In 2023, Gwarzo became the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development. He works alongside the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa.
Gwarzo believes in creating a good environment for private companies to help with housing development. Since taking office, Gwarzo has been busy with many projects to make housing more accessible.
He wants to increase the funds for the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria so more Nigerians can get affordable mortgage loans.
Also, he is creating a Strategic Housing and Urban Development Blueprint, which will set out the main goals and plans for improving housing in Nigeria.
Gwarzo is also looking for new ways to finance housing to reduce the housing shortage in Nigeria. He is talking to international organizations to improve land registration and titling processes, which are important for using land as a valuable asset.
